I may make a living out of watching the "micro" as in individual stocks, as opposed to the market as a whole, but I can tell you this: EVERY time over the past 14 months that favored short stocks (short because of fundamental issues) have soared, and EVERY time my sources have sounded like death warmed over and EVERY time that I've wondered whether I've chosen the wrong niche on which to focus... EVERY time this feeling and these events have occurred the market has suffered a a serious (oh-my-God-the-sky-is-falling) kind of short-term decline...usually with in a week of the peak. Will this time be different? No clue. Just passing it along. hg

I think many of the hedge funds covered their shorts in the last few days. They couldn't take the pain or they couldn't bear the losses or they wanted to rack up profits before they were taken away. That stuff is hard to judge, but it is something I am pretty good at.
