Gottfried,

I have been watching on and off the stock of CPU chips on TC Computers. My interpretation is that in the segment of market where TC Computers operates, there used to be almost no demand for P4. They carried 1 of each 1.5, 1.4 and 1.3 GHz P4s. Now they went up to 2 8 and 3, while 1.7 GHz is on allocation, which was my observation on the day of the release (that is that Intel has not shipped any parts to the distributors on the day of the announcement of 1.7 GHz). A small vlume is starting to show up at other online vendors. I guess we will see soon if the P4 becomes actually selling item, rather than a curiosity.

Looking at the AMD page, it is apparent that AMD is on the way of moving all the Athlons to 133 MHz FSB, leaving 100 MHz FSB to Duron.
