Hello from Honolulu, everyone! I got in Monday, rented an apartment one block from Waikiki Beach on Tuesday, and am sending this from the Downtown Library Internet site. I will be online using roadrunner on the local cable next week. So far, I love it! Waikiki is what Vegas would be like if you lost the gambling and added the best climate in the world. I can walk into the ocean without a shiver, and I like the tacky atmosphere. I am in a low rise studio that is so small I can almost touch the walls with a spin. I have the major Chain Hotels on all sides of me. They love us old farts over here. I got a senior bus pass good for two years for $20! The best way to learn a city, IMO, is to ride the bus lines, and I am doing that. I am committed to the studio for 6 months at $650 a month, utilities included, with air. Shopping at Safeway is an experience. You quickly go over to private label and sale items. I was Lindy Hopping at a local Night Club Tuesday nite, and street dancing last nite with a lady who was singing for bucks on the street. Its nice to have the market go up while I am off line. Even with today's drop, I am still up about 8% from last week. I will post some pictures next week. LindyBill
