kaka. i believe they dumped their inventory at higher prices and are now looking to suck em' up again at lower. two weeks does not make a trend in the PC business.

they asked Meredith a question; 'will you consider more layoffs if necessary?' Meredith gave a standard response, albeit in an arrogant manner; 'absolutely'.

what was Meredith supposed to say? 'maybe yes, maybe no, maybe we'll babysit employees that are not needed' or 'i can't answer that, i'm just too coy to come up with a valid answer'. apparently, 'absolutely' was all they needed.

let's INVENT another question to ask Meredith: 'if the U.S. goes into deep recession is it possible that Dell will experience gross margins of 3% to 2% or less?'

Meredith: 'it is possible under the bleakest of circumstances that Dell will do what is necessary to keep it's model working and investors assured of better times to come.'

This is how the media would IRRESPONSIBLY rewrite his reponse: DELL STATES MARGINS OF 2% POSSIBLE IF IN RECESSION

the movement is being done for someone. it's sad to watch. you have to wonder how much of this "game" is built into Dell's stock price
