Possibly just a delayed response to the Alpha deal?

On reflection, this partnership is a significant endorsement for their business model: let the customer concentrate on product design and let Kopin worry about the HBT "device wafers". HBT is a critical technology for Alpha's future, even moreso than for CNXT, and they've decided to go with Kopin.

Otoh, something else may be up with Kopin. I don't know. Nothing solid, anyway. How about gaseous and liquid: the beachball effect. <g>

It's hard to say on valuation. Business conditions are extremely tough now for tech and for Kopin, but hopefully this period will turn out to be an extreme deviation from the long-term trend, e.g. as represented by a least-squares fit to a plot of quarterly revenues. If it does, and if Kopin maintains their competitive edge, results should start regressing back towards that trend in the third quarter. In that case, we should be extrapolating the long-term trend, not just the last few data points to gauge where Kopin is going. Another, more company specific factor is that intellectual property (patents, technical leadership in HBT, etc.) constitutes a relatively large portion of their enterprise value; that and other intangibles get marked down to almost nothing in a bear market, as investors lose the faith.

As to how long the recent tear will last, don't ask me. I've been following Kopin for years, but on my short-term trades I might as well have been throwing darts!
