How do Novellus or Lam people know how many chips any one chip company is selling? Intel won't even break out what percentage of their sales are comprised of PC chips vs. server chips vs. chipsets vs. motherboards, etc. How can an equipment vendor to Intel know what Intel's sales are looking like day to day? There are rumors that the P4 1.7 GHz is in short supply. It's either selling very well, or Intel has a problem yielding them, and Intel has denied the latter. I wish companies would stick to speaking about sales for THEIR PRODUCTS only, because comments on their customers', vendors' or competitors sales are only conjecture.

Last post on this subject for me.

Are you sure that NVLS and LRCX don't sell to Japan? KLAC sure does.
