My plan went from a formula rate for prescriptions (90% after plan deductible) to a separate $150/family prescription deductible. The other (plan) deductible, $600 per family, remains the same, plus $100 per ER visit (one so far this year). So this year we could conceivably hit $850 just before coverage starts. We are a healthy family yet have already hit about $650 on the deductibles.

I think as the self-pay component continues to skyrocket, people will demand to see prices up front and will shop around as with any other big ticket item.
