Aldrums,

You could be right. I've heard it both ways. What is the consensus?

BTW Rogan and I had a long conversation yesterday. I don't want to speak for him but believe I'm safe in saying we both agree this will kill growth in that industry, from B/Ds to software to web sites. It's the plankton theory I'm operating on. Eliminate the source of the large accounts (small accounts) and the dominoes fall.

I hate to sound dumb but is a "day trade" under these rules a trade that is opened and closed the same day? If a person were to buy or short and hold overnight before liquidating more than 4 times a week but does not exceed that number of trades opened and closed the same day, is he or she also a "pattern day trader?" Thanks.

P.S. I just read Dan's post and I have my answer.
