George, the problem is, it won't show up in the BLS numbers...:)

btw, i think that all the price increases we're seeing (note that they mostly concern recurring expenditure items) are ultimately deflationary, as they crimp demand elsewhere. something i can easily envision is a strange mixture of inflation and deflation...inflation in raw materials for instance, which come out of a decade of underinvestment, but definitely accelerating deflation in tech hardware.

inflation of the money supply is indeed raging however. i've never seen a printathon that could even remotely hold a candle to the current one. MZM and M3 are going vertical. not even the Y2K extravaganza comes close.
