Jacob, I'm just saying that lay-off accounting is complicated. If you lay off someone with vested rights [to a pension, medical benefits] you save FICA and the cost for having an employee in a cubicle. Medical benefits are there whether he's employed or not. It's not something that can be evaluated without a spread sheet. I know nothing about it except it must in the long run save money or companies wouldn't do it. Temp employees probably get no benefits, so may be cheaper?
