Michael, I am aware of at least two times when Cheney said that we need tax cuts to avoid a recession. One was in December, and the other was last weekend. Even thought the tax plan offers most of it's benefit 5+ years out, Cheney/Bush are rushing it through Congress before any more good economic news gets out. Almost everyone in the semiconductor industry is forecasting a good Q3, and that news would deny Bush his phoney baloney victory over the phoney baloney recession. Scumbria
