I'd buy the highest bit rate DSL offered if I could get it. I'm in a new neighborhood. Alltel, in their infinite wisdom, ran some real nice fiber to the neighborhood vault. No copper. But, it's just a cabinet without any cooling, so they can't use an ordinary DSLAM. They've been promising to put in a hardened DSLAM from Cisco for going on a year now, but Cisco purportedly is having problems shipping. I told them to broaden their horizons and call Alcatel. I guarantee you > 90% of the homes would subscribe if they could deliver. Opportunity is knocking, but nobody is answering the door.
