Reudi Aebersold is speaking for free in S.D. on May 18th. And I'll be in town! I am so there.

biotech-calendar.com

Then hit <ctl> f (find) and enter "Reudi" because it's a big text page.

>>Quantitative Proteome Analysis: New Technology and Applications. Dr. Reudi Aebersold, Institute for Systems Biology, Seattle, WA<<

I'll also be hitting the High Throughput Structural Biology talk 6/13.

Since we're all into high throughput processing of liquid phase compounds, Trickle's offer to buy the first round of beer for fellow TrickleMavens that wander into S.D. still stands. To paraphrase Phytera's Dr. Morville: "I'll put my renal cells against 100,000 synthetic chemists any day of the week and win."

Cheers, Tuck

Hi Tuck,

FWIW...When I used to work in the lab...the lab used to order most of our stuff from Fisher...until a few years ago, when IVGN came in and made a deal with the institute, the different lab orders were centralized & then the majority of the consumable orders went to them...with a few orders here and there remaining with Fisher...I thought it was a very strategic move for IVGN, as before that deal the ordering was the other way around...BWDIK?

If $ is tight, the consumables will probably still get bought since the experiments must continue...& like any company, the purchase of pricey machines might get tabled (& they'd just fix the old ones, or buy used ones or cheaper ones, but they were not necessarily better), since they are more a luxury...unless there is a dramatic improvement...BWDIK?

Best of Luck,

WHG?
