All 4 of your points are not facts, they are biased opinions.

Dear hamsandwich: Say, is that on rye or pumpernickel?? I bet that latter. As to you points:
1. Gore STOLE the majority of the vote through fraudulent manipulation.
2. The supreme court stole it back.
3. Overvotes caused by Dems being stupid
4. GW took office cause his teams smarter.

1. Barring examination of every corruption charge, it is impossible to determine who won the majority of the popular vote. But even assuming Gore did, the system requires winning the electoral vote.

2. The Supreme Court made a decision that was pro- states rights. Voter equity considerations are legitimate for it to review,in any case, but the meat of the decision was a deference to the Florida Legislature's determination to meet the safe harbor provisions. Since the Legislature has absolute power to determine the method of voting for electors, it overrode the concerns of the Florida Supreme Court.

3. Overvotes are not counted, because they are spoiled ballots. It is speculative what might have happened had people voted properly. It is not impossible that they meant to vote for Buchanan, or none of the above. As it happens, the Reform Party was strong in that area, and only a handful of people stepped forward alleging they had meant to vote for Gore.

4. President Bush took office through a fair and lawful process.

Objective facts.......

You need to get a grip on the relavant facts.

1. Popular vote is irrelevant under the US Constitution. Bush won the electoral vote and that is how the Presidency is decided.

2. A seven member majority decided that Gore's "recounting"scheme was unconstitutional. A five member majority stopped the "recounts". Under the US Constitution, this matter was decided in Bush's favor. This does not diminish the legitimacy of the elction result but confirms it. Its the way our system works.

3. Anyone too stupid to fill out the ballot correctly forfeits his right to have his vote counted.

4. Cronyism and deception have nothing to do with it. See #1 and #2 above.

You may not like the election result any more than I accept Roe v. Wade or the fact that a perjurer was allowed to occupy the WH after his guilt was firmly established. If you want change you need to work within the system to elect people who will affect those changes or work toward amendments to the Constitution accordingly. I know its hard to remember after the Clinton years, but we are a nation of laws, not men.
