If we called in all the government debt tomorrow, besides paying an enormous premium we would be ripping the foundation away from the portfolios of millions of people and institutions depended on by millions more. It would be stupid, irresponsible, and it plain isn't going to happen.

To argue then that we should forego any tax cuts until the debt is paid off is ludicrous.
