Ross,
They need to build out for the next leg up. They have been delaying deals since the third quarter of last year. Their current platforms wont allow them to compete in the next upwave. If they act too soon they have to answer to shareholders and if too late its the bondholders i guess. A healthy nasdaq and that doesnt necessarily mean big gains, tells them that the online portion of their business will be back sooner rather than later. If they fail to upgrade they will lose out to the schwabs of the world who are always doing R&D. It is a tough business. Mike

PS I suspect this is the same for orders in other industries, chips included. Intel capex spending defines in that space what schwab spending does in mine
