Dear Guru, (I promoted you to Guru, Frank) I have this feeling that what we are witnessing today with the Internet market is similar to what happened in the 80's with the Mini computer. Companies such as DEC and Wang or Nixdorf in Germany rose to prominence selling computers that were alternatives to mainframe computers.

Then, when every firm that needed one already had it, the market dried up.

Today perhaps every firm that needs LAN gear already have so, what we are seeing is CSCO becoming what DEC and Wang became in the early 90's.
