It just occurred to someone that if Intel is going to slash prices and Dell and Compaq are going to the mattresses and 19" dot 26 monitors are selling for $179 and Rambus doesn't own sram and ddram, then this might be a good thing for MS.

:))

MSFT is pushing hard on $71. If it fails, sell. But, if you sell now, and it gets through, it could run to $80 in a hurry and you'd be left behind.

I would also note that the DOW is within reach of 11,000.
MSFT could lead the Dow higher or vice versa.
If there is a breakout on the Dow past 11k, MSFT making a big run higher is a pretty good probability. 80 looks like a good short term target; not even thinking about the 95 at this point.

The overall reaction to the bad economic news this morning leads me to conclude this is a new bull market and not just a bear market rally. Dips are being bought.

..and because many are still skeptical about any new bull market, they have been shorting the rallies. Once they realize it is not working, we could get a major short covering and that will provide an incredible pop to MSFT/NAZ/DOW.
After today's trading action on the Naz, I believe we are getting very close to that happening shortly.
