MSFT is a tough one to figure out. I actually love them as a tech play. They have their fingers in everything, well diversified, Gorilla, etc. and I would say they will be around for a looong time unlike the CSCOs, etc that have to worry about thier technologies being obsolete each night. ( Recall LU was king only a couple years ago and there is a long list just like them.) Tech hardware eventually becomes a commodity since if it is too good a thing, competitors line up and start underselling you. Software is proprietary and when you have as many programmers as MSFT does, you can generally stay ahead of the curve and anyone copying your stuff gets put in jail. PLus they have so much cash, they can buy up anyone that does get a jump on them either through muscle or by making an offer they can't refuse.

On the other hand, there is a long line of states and private parties just waiting to litigate them for the next umpteen years. It will make the MO cases seem like a breeze. They might be able to appeal any losses until everyone dies of old age but it will be a cloud hanging over them for a long time.

Who knows.

Good Luck,

Lee
