I have the feeling Scumbria and BIlow dont need to be paid to bash Rambus.. theres plenty of ammo out there to do it on a voluntary basis.

Too many of you guys are paranoid and into conspiracy theory on here.

My viewpoint? Rambus thought they could bluff and scare everyone into thinking they had legit claims.. and get settlements before it reached court... well.. Infineon wasnt intimidated and called their bluff.. looks like they had nothing in their hand

Now they can get back to trying to sell RDRAM on its merits, rather then try to force it on the market when no one wants it in the face of poor benchmarks and expensive price. improve the product.. and people will buy it... simple as that... thats just a starting block... none of the hardware community was particularly pleased when RMBS basically hinted that royalties on DDR SDRAM would be higher in order to help RDRAM out as the industry standard.. that smells of trying to force something down someone's throat... there's a LOT of ill will towards RAMBUS.. and not many people in hardware land will be feeling sorry for them. They burnt a lot of bridges... the question will be whether they can build them back up

If I can be convinced that RDRAM is superior , and its not that expensive, and if it comes out for an AMD machine.. I'll certainly consider it.

Bilow and Scumbria must be getting "revved up" somewhere.

That's funny. I was going to compliment them on their restraint. Scumbria certainly heard the news and has only posted one message (and a very reasonable one at that).

<edit: I also see now that Carl has had several posts. My appreciation to both of them for reasonable posts at this time.>
