TWY, no doubt Intel had a huge influence in both the positive and negative fortunes of Rambus. I didn't make that very clear in my original message. But that doesn't imply that I'm trying to absolve Intel of anything.

Once Intel decided to support both SDRAM and RDRAM, that's when Rambus' efforts to claim royalties on SDRAM got underway. Now maybe Rambus has been planning this for years, or maybe not. I can't be sure. But it's safe to say that had RDRAM been successful in becoming the de facto standard in the entire DRAM industry, Rambus would have never felt the need to chase after SDRAM and DDR royalties.

That was my original point. Now let's put this to rest, OK?
