JL,

Usually when someone's E-mail is "unusually crowded", it has something to do with Rush.

Imagine what their response would be if a crazed Russian soviet captain launched a nuke missile at the United States and destroyed New York.

Then they would be saying...."we've always supported a nuclear shield for the United States, we just didn't like Bush's shield".

<<"though there was a lot of traffic on the subject of President Bush and missile defense.">>It may not work perfectally but if it it keeps the one off your yard, it's worth the money.

NBC News Graphic Shows Bush in Riflescope Crosshairs

Tuesday night's introduction to NBC's "Nightly News with Tom Brokaw" featured a composite graphic that briefly showed President Bush framed by what looked like the crosshairs of a riflescope, while the anchorman talked about "taking aim" at a Bush proposal.

The Bush-crosshairs image was used to set up a report on the president's strategic missile defense plan.

In the brief clip, an image of the earth spinning in space morphs into what looks like a riflescope's crosshairs, which linger onscreen as an image of President Bush materializes.

The crosshairs remain visible over the president, centered on his right shoulder, for approximately a half second. Both images fade to video of a missile blazing into the sky.

In a voiceover during the outrageous segment, NBC anchorman Tom Brokaw says:

"Taking aim at the president's controversial new Star Wars idea - is it really the best defense?"

The dangerously provocative imagery has created a firestorm of protest on the Web site FreeRepublic.com, which first reported the incident Tuesday night. The NBC video is currently available as an mpeg video file at the Web site: orbix.cc on the word "Crosshairs").

The Bush-crosshairs image is far more apparent during a casual viewing than was the notorious "RATS" message that flashed during a GOP campaign commercial last year. With some prompting from the Gore campaign, the New York Times reported that the "RATS" commercial was likely a diabolical plot by Republicans to criticize the opposition using illegal subliminal imagery.

Last year, just after Bush was nominated by the GOP as its presidential candidate, CBS's "The Late Show" featured video of Bush captioned by the message "Snipers Wanted."

The Secret Service launched an investigation and "The Late Show's" production staff promised disciplinary action, but apparently no punishment was ever meted out.

I KNEW IT. The guy can't read. Must memorize his copy.

According to Peter Jennings, the ABC anchor’s e-mail box was "unusually crowded" on Wednesday morning.
"Not sure why,"

Like him or not, Rush was profound when he said liberals are at their FUNNIEST when they are out-of-power...
