I believe this is not exactly right. See, in my opinion, there are two kinds of services: pure stock picking and educational. First just offer to do a job for customer: pay me and I will build a bridge for you. Second is more college-like: pay me and I make you an engineer. There are also those that combine both to some degree. Notice, I do not discuss the quality of stock picks or education offered, it's something customer should decide on.
Both are valid and both have their followers, it all depends on what customer is looking for... some want to have a bridge built for them, and some want to learn how to build.
Srvice of second kind has nothing to hide, education is their major product. Stock picking is done mostly for demonstration purposes. Let me cite an example of what we offer in this regard:

As you can see from this video (it's updated daily), there are no secrets. Situation where students learn and leave is normal, college can't keep teaching the same audience forever :)
