The greatest socialist wheeze of all time, (my hostility is towards ideas - not people) i.e. you are not responsible or capable of thinking on your own therefore I will do it for you. It is unfortunate that you seem unable to grasp the concept. Your solution, of course, is to execute all the Tim M.'s of the world, over and over and over--and you wonder why they keep coming back to kill your kids. It is the idea that must be disproven, AJ--not the person. The reason our society is relatively benign is for the simple reason that we believe in certain ideas such as: a a variation in skin color does not make a person an animal or affect their rights; or: woman are not inferior beings, and should enjoy the same voting (and other) priviledges as the AJ's of the world. Another idea I like is the idea that says one ought not to impose their religious beliefs on others. I can understand how offended you would be at ideas, any ideas. Picking two old testament offerings served up cold and out of context hardly serve your purpose. Your statement here is surely an ugly and hostile one. I am not offended at all ideas. Have I not been arguing the opposite? I AM offended at ideas which cause and exalt suffering. I do not stand alone in that position. You seem to believe that there is no difference between ideas--that they are interchangeable and do not reflect on the character, or the behaviour of the people holding them. Once in awhile your mutterings become too bizarre to even comprehend. This is one of those times. Is your "served up cold" in reference to the cannibalism cited, meant to be some sort of a joke? But I think it reasonable to contend that eating your own children and forcing people to eat dung, are ideas that many would consider ignoble. You have every right to believe they are uplifting ideas, however. Some people DO believe that. This is why society has child protection laws. As far as your question asking what Jesus has to do with the Old Testamnet--I did not mention Jesus in my post at all. However, I see nothing wrong with you making up the questions AND giving the answers. You might find it very instructive.
