Qua,
You're not alone my friend. My 9 year old, who we have to rouse out of bed from a deep sleep at 7:00 each morning, routinely wakes up on his own accord at 6:45 most Saturday's. Maybe it's the excitement of Little League games or those Saturday morning cartoons :) My 5 year old is still snoozing as I type. He, on the other hand, always makes sure to get in his forty winks!

As for Vargas' subdued demeanor, I read it as a positive. Let him just get back in the saddle and take care of business with his outstanding talent. I always admire guys who take tough fights and don't look for soft touches.

Bruce

Hey Qua-man,

During the week, I'm up at 5:00am to be at work by 7:15, so on a Saturday, I'm typically awake at 4:30 or 5 before I force myself back to sleep. Once in awhile, though, when I'm not able to I'll get up, take a 6:00 walk around the block, get coffee, the Saturday NYT and Barrons...and, well, you get the picture. Might as well be a workday.

I also noticed that Vargas had toned down his pre-fight banter on the Friday Night Fights, though I don't think that such will help him against the veteran Rivera. For all we know, and but for what might not total 10 punches to swing the balance, Rivera beat Delahoya once, Whitaker twice, and took savage-punching Mosely to a decision.

BTW - did you hear that Teddy Atlas took on Michael Grant? I personally think that raises Grant's 'stock' considerably.
