Microsoft's coffers which at last count were sporting $30 BILLION IN CASH

I believe the majority of that amount comes from financing activities such as tax credits for options; not profits from operations.

re 3BUS$ in coffers - this is AFTER-TAX monies! Cause (that's the way I understood the argument) its taxed at the(negligible) income tax rate of employees (see the options slips in Redmond WA and all over the world) as opposed to corporate tax rate. There's some (also negligible) exceptions on the wrong side like the likes of BilG or Steve Balmer. However, just think of all those bright-eyed kids working 140 hrs a week and then (during the rest of the week) helping the big M decrease its tax bracket
