>>After beating Phoenix on Wednesday night to advance to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in 20 years, the Kings didn't hold back in a nationally-televised celebration.

When asked about the Kings' exuberance Thursday, Jackson replied: "I thought their comedic rating was up high. ... They really have a bunch of goofy guys having a good time. You don't want the dogs sniffing their luggage when they come off the plane."

The Kings fired back Friday from Sacramento.

"He's a goof, I think it was stupid, childish. He can do what he wants to do, we'll just go out and play ball," Jason Williams said.

"I don't really care about that. I don't know, if I coached Michael Jordan and Shaq and Kobe, I'd probably talk like that too," Chris Webber said, referring to the former Chicago Bulls' star and current Lakers' standouts Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant.

Last May, two days before the Lakers won the fifth and deciding game of their first-round playoff series with the Kings, Jackson described Kings fans as "semi-civilized ... rednecks."

"Is this bad? It's humorous, what else is there to this world if you don't have some humor and jocularity?" Jackson said. "Sacramento needs someone to yell at, we'll give them some bait.

"It's a lot of fun. This is a team we've all liked to watch. ... Sacramento's like the Cleveland Indians of the '60s, '70s, '80s, they had a long drought." <<
