Is it possible that the unexpected decline in the value of AMD on Friday, when INTC was up, was the "short term negative impact" you expected?
A "short term impact" may actually prevent the "forced conversion" of AMD bonds. Since AMD may not be able to pay the bonds when due, their present value may decline. The interest AMD may have to pay on new debt will increase.
