TOm,

I am not against nuclear power in fact I'm in favor of it since it releases less radioactivity than coal burning plants. IT's cleaner and more efficient.More nuke plants would drive the energy barons out of this marketplace. They would have to find another market to play with. Suits me just fine. The nuclear waste is very small in comparison to the amount of energy it produces. I think most people are not aware that the design of these plants has improved greatly since Three Mile island. The trouble with them is they will take longer to build so they are not a viable short term solution...longer term ,maybe.

Several years ago I was in Houston for a meeting and I met a nuclear power plant inspector. He had just quit his job and went into uranium mine inspection because he couldn't sleep at night........he claimed the plants at that time were in BAD shape and alot of pressure had been put on him to overlook certain things. I think it was about 18 or 19 years ago that I met the fellow and haven't forgotten what he told me. I sure hope things have changed.
