Clinton can't escape the judgment of history.
I think, because of the economy in his two terms, he had the possibility od being remembered as a good to very good President. His ardent supporters claim he was essentially entirely responsible for that economy; hardly true. On Greenspan's advice, he did push hard early on to start to gt deficit spending under control- -against Republican resistance. He deserves credit for that.

But part of the credit for the economy does go to Greenspan, and a good part to Ronald Reagan for taking the steps that ultimately ended the Cold War.

He also was a social activist and pushed the nation in directions a great many citizens did not want to go: hate crime legislation, gay and lesbian rights, gays in the military,....

Whatever Clinton did, he also did Monica and Jennifer and Paula and......................... and that largely negated everything else, and, probably more than anything else, is what he will be remembered for.

After all, he was only the second President in over 200 years to be impeached. THAT, and the reasons for it, will surely be remembered. Some legacy.
