The Mercury news also had an article about the US experiencing the highest unemployment a decade.

My first thought was if this was just a head count or a percentage based figure that would be more accurate. It is hard to determine accurately due to the increase in two wage earner households. Lower percentage unemployment figures could now have a greater impact on the whole economy due to the higher percentage of families relying on two incomes .
At this time i feel opportunity for growth on is appearing more so elsewhere than here.

Both Intc and Cisco are in growth phase elsewhere. This could very well put us in the position of having to be the prime financial base in the world. I have my doubts on this being possible the fact being at one point in time Japan had the largest banks in the world.

Long range we really could be in for an extended slow down and a decrease in our standard of living.
