excellent post j! i firmly believe that greenspank has done irrevocable damage to the market. the writing was on the wall that he was raising interest rates too much in the face of rising energy costs last fall... now he is a little too late... it doesn't matter how much he reduces interest rates. "don't fight the fed, don't fight the fed" i say don't fight the fact that with higher energy prices, higher unemployment, zero savings, high debt, etc (as j mentioned), consumer confidence will be a drag on this market. i don't think we've seen the lows on confidence yet... if anyone has made money recently in this market, i think it's time to take money off the table... jmho
