Too bad companies don't announce when they plan to fire employees (they only seem to announce layoffs, which we all know are just temporary leaves from the company), if they did then the Fri jobs report wouldn't have been such a big suprise. Tonyt, The Friday job report should not have been a large surprise regardless. I live in an area where the economy is dependant a lot on the manufacturing sector. I was surprised how good the numbers were in the recent report which I attribute to areas that are more service based. The manufacturing sector is not improving at least not noticably.
