RE: " when thousands of chinks came over and wiped out 80% of his company".

If Jerome had used the "N" word to describe black folks, would he have gotten the same free pass he has gotten here in describing the Chinese?

I just figured he was too busy with his crack pipe to dignify his comments with a reply and if I did, they would fall on deaf ears.

Sometimes, it is best to let people hang themselves with their own foolish ignorance.

Then again, I am glad you said something as perhaps Jerome will take advantage to issue a detailed apology so some of us might consider him worth talking to again.

If Jerome had used the "N" word, he would have received a free pass from me because I would not see it. He is one of a number of people on my "ignore" list.

I put him there because I am not interested in short term option plays and he posts a lot of these. I might have placed him there for his bigotry. I have summarily dismissed others for similar behavior.

A number of years ago, I responded to a homophobic post on the Ask Michael Burke thread by stating that it had obliterated the value of the previous 1000 posts I had read and that I will not continue reading the thread. I have never read the thread after that post.

By the way, I left ROLM when IBM sold it to Siemens and I will not buy a German car or any other product if I can help it.. I don't know if this reflects hatred, but it certainly doesn't represent an interest in letting bygones be bygones. I was able to work in a friendly manner with German employees of CERN when I was at SLAC, and my boss at SLAC was born and educated in Germany. I never felt entirely comfortable.

I suggest that you place Jerome on your ignore list and start becoming more reticent to discuss politics on this thread. I have ceased political discussion. When I read political posts, now, I realize how futile and fruitless any attempts to respond must be. We have trouble enough maintaining a useful, civil dialogue on stocks. People come here with a lifetime of political baggage and we don't really want to expend the effort to move to closer views.
