OK, looks like I'm getting my wires crossed on terminology. Copyright law does not cover "Market Gems". From loc.gov I read "titles, names, short phrases, and slogans; familiar symbols or designs; mere variations of typographic ornamentation, lettering, or coloring; mere listings of ingredients or contents"

Maybe MG could be considered a trademark? Searching again...
