There's too much at risk for everyone to turn their backs. We have the sixth largest economy in the world here in Ca. and our economy will affect the rest of the country. I do think it'll get worked out in some way.

Maybe some companies will adapt a more creative hourly schedule for their energy use. Some individuals may want to work during the evening and nighttime hours to avoid the peak use times. That might be of double benefit as it would change some of the heavy load during commute traffic hours.

I think we all ought to get out of our ruts and think creatively and be willing to bend a bit for a year or two. I like the thoughts of making these changes ourselves so we can tell the energy companies we have figured out how to live with less of their product.

Methinks they have picked on the wrong state!!!!!

I remember the not so good old days when I was a single, divorced Mom and didn't have enough to pay my PG&E bill. My neighbor strung an extension cord from her apt and let me run off her power till I got paid. There were times when the situation was reversed and I fed her kids till she got paid. We pitched in and helped each other out when we were in need. I think we can all pull together and help each other through this problem.
