Suppose that AMD were to buy into IBM's Fishkill fab. AMD buys a 50% stake, and in exchange IBM gets a license to produce and sell one IBM branded Barton processor for every
Hammer processor sold by AMD.


Do you remember Cyrix? Cyrix had some licensing agreement with IBM and IBM undercut Cyrix in terms of price.
