<<How Capitalism Saved the Whales>> This isn't the first time capitalism beat out the dogooders. Consider the John Muir: Sierra Flub credits him with the millions of acres of wilderness in the national park system. Gifford Pinchot, a capitalist and America's first Forester, beat him handily, with millions more acres of wilderness in the national forest system Outside Alaska.

Gordon,

You are ignoring the obvious fact that the whale population has been decimated. If it weren't for the efforts by Greenpeace to raise awareness, it is likely that many whale species would would be on the verge of extinction, or already gone.

Most national and international laws protecting whales are the direct result of Greenpeace efforts.
