Roche - Novartis did an interesting coup with buying 20% of the voting shares for 2.8B US$ only. While I do not think that an outright takeover is imminent, i do think that NVS is having serious talks with Roche's management and the Roche family. My guess is that NVS did see an unique opportunity to get an interesting strategic options for at a very low cost. A takeover of Roche however would not be that easy for NVS, since the political resistance within Switzerland and the EU could be intense.
