Amazon.com (AMZN: news, msgs, alerts) has shifted almost 30 people out of its unit developing technology for e-commerce using mobile devices such as cell phones and personal digital assistants. They have either left the company or been transferred to other departments, according to The Wall Street Journal. The "Amazon Anywhere" group had hoped to license its technology to other Net companies.
