Tomcat - I thought Santaler left the high end group to take over the clustered servers. Maybe that lack of ability to do real development got to him. Also, I am surprised that there is not more synergy with the former DEC design tams - they certainly had some heavyweight silicon guys. Tandem also has a pretty good silicon team, or at least they used to have. Anderson was some kind of a McKenzie business planning guy and was not a Compaq employee when I was working with them, I didn't know he had any technical capability.
