Hi Inder,

I don't associate anything which is efficient with MSFT.....(esp if it is developed in house). Game consoles needs to be lean and mean... I am not going to speculate the success of X-Box but will wait for it to prove its worth in the market.

Later,

Suresh

Edit: Hi Inder at 500 bucks for X-Box... I don't know if people are going to be buying in huge numbers.. You can get a PC for about 700 these days...

Hi Inder,

>>What do you think about the X-Box as a possible driver of >>growth for Microsoft ?

I think this would be a total new market for MSFT. I don't think they are used to a model where you lose money on the system to make it up on the games. This is a system that they are trying to manufacture and sell as opposed to PC's which are manufacted by other vendors. I think MSFT will have trouble making the corporate shift in thinking.

Given that MSFT has never been the best at writing compact code as is required for games, I don't think they have the software engining talent in house either.
