One thing Thomsett harps on is that you should NOT use a broker to advise you when you are an option trader! Not at all.

He states it is very (very!) likely that you will know more about your exact needs and the state of the options market than almost any broker. They just cannot put in the time required to do a decent job for you (even if they wanted to<g>).

This advice, offered in the context of a beginner's book, gave Thomsett a certain cut to the chase / no nonsense credibility to my mind.
