Will Sounds to me that you've reached a happy medium with your tweaks. Dialup speeds are very dependent upon phoneline conditions, state of the web during the tests, and problems at your ISP to worry too much about. With a 56K modem, anything in the area of 4.5 to 5K/s download speed is all that can be expected even under optimal conditions. It's my understanding that the upload speed you are talking about is impossible. Why you get those readings is beyond me. Here's an article from ZDNet you might be interested in. zdnet.com
