The argument that Clinton proposed to increase the deficit in 1995 is ridiculous. Clinton used conservative growth estimates, which turned out low and revenues came in higher than expected. Clinton vetoed a huge Republican tax cut that would have exploded the deficit.

Under the Bush administration estimates from 1992, we should be running a $500 billion deficit right now.
