Andreas: With the added features and the cooler running core, Duron could be a killer processor for low budget computing and give the PIII a run for its money.

With more integrated chipsets hitting the market (e.g. the new SiS735, which integrates the north and south bridges, although it doesn't feature graphics) the low-end segment in general should be much more accessible.

it is unlikely that Palomino and Morgan will differ on anything different except L2 cache.

I hope that doesn't turn out to be the case. Either that or AMD needs to keep the frequency gap real, and the price gap the same ("same" as in "real", not as in "status quo").
