Yes, Gore won the popular vote by a slim margin, but after the second recount in Florida, he still had lost the Electoral vote, which is what counts in this country....

I really feel Gore should have let it go at that point....

He didn't let it go....and deep in my bones I believe he fought for the Presidency not because it was good for the country, but because it was what he wanted....

And if you care more for yourself than for your country, then you can never be a leader of your country.

The truth is Gore got many illegal votes all over the country, especially in Chicago. An accurate vote count likely would have shown Bush the clear winner. here in s. fla people were bussed to vote a certain way purely for donuts. It really was disgusting. jdn
