If the networks had not called Florida before the polls closed in the Republican panhandle, perhaps things might not have been so close?!?!

I agree. The idiots at CNN created an impression that Bush won for several hours before their retraction, that tainted public opinion through the recount process.

Had CNN not done that, the recount would have gone much more smoothly.
