Dave,

I went canoeing on the Green river in Utah with a guy named John Hinckley, about two weeks after Reagan got shot.

He was having a really tough time using his credit cards, for some reason.

Dear Dave: If everybody would take a moment to walk in the other guy's shoes, to step back and think, to forgive small infractions, and live and let live, we would all be a lot better off.

AMEN BROTHER!! No truer words have ever been spoken. Its my understanding that the Bureau of Alcohol, Drugs and Firearms (ADF (?)) got out of control, at least in Waco. The problem is as I see it one of too much Machoism. I felt at the time, and still do, that it would have been far cheaper to merely put up a chain link fence around all of the Waco Farm, declare it Prison Waco, post a guard at the entrance and go away. But, sadly that wasnt the MACHO thing to do. That incident was a black eye on law enforcement in USA. Can you even IMAGIN how the media would have addressed that if it had happened in say China? As to Ruby Ridge, seems to me we went WAY out of our way to get in trouble up there. Hopefully, things are being run a little calmer now.
As to abortion, I think my position is similar to yours. Personally, I would hope I would never have to face such a decision cause I really think its pretty horrible, but I think its a religious and moral matter not a govt. matter and though I am a Republican I wish they would just stop talking about it. jdn
