Thomas and mr mark, if there's a check mark in the box then fast shutdown is disabled. If there is no checkmark in the box then fast shutdown is not disabled [i.e. it is enabled].

How you make the check mark appear or disappear doesn't matter. This is my final decision.

When it comes to double negatives or triple positives, I'm lost.

I will say I agree that the instructions were awkwardly written. That seems to be the norm when it comes to computer instructions. Must be a lot of former government bureaucrats(IRS?) employed in the tech writing biz?
